New Comic! My [adjective] Life

Happy New Year everybody!

Thought I'd start things off right with a new comic. This is the rebranding of Replay-Value: Burbank I've been talking about. Going forward, it will be called "My [adjective] Life" with the titles of whatever story arc filling in the adjective space (Ex, paranromal, extraterrestrial, mundane, subsurface, etc)

Anyway, head over to the COMICS page and check out the 5-page Prologue comic. More to come!

Hey! Words and stuff!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a head's-up on a couple things.

First up, comics. Where are they? As you may have noticed, Replay-Value [the series] has been on hiatus and in its place I've been posting shorts. I want everyone to know the comic isn't over (and neither is "Oh Shit, Monsters") but shorts are a little more time-consuming to make. I hope to start the comic back up in 2012 (with a brand-new name) along-side short film updates, hopefully a balance can be found for doing both. In order to do that I've brought some new blood to the Replay-Value Studios team!

I'd like to welcome Lauren and Jenai, they'll be helping me write and produce more animated shorts and comics going forward! They are both incredibly talented and creative artists and I'm so glad to bring them on board. Also, long-time cast member Matt (yes, he is a real person) has been put in charge of Replay-Value Records, which will be getting its own page in the near future once the recording studio is ready. Matt is an accomplished DJ and will be producing the soundtracks for future shorts. We'll all be getting special icons soon to differentiate who's posting what so be on the lookout for their posts!

Lastly, website rejiggering. The sketchbook section. I haven't updated it all year, and I think the Backlot tumblr and Twitter feed has kind of taken its place. I'm probably going to get rid of it or replace it with a portfolio page for each of us pretty soon.

Very Special Short: "Super F-Yeah!"

For some very strange reason, the player is showing up cropped when you view this on my website, so I suggest clicking here to watch it on YouTube.

Pendleton Ward drew a bunch of characters and level designs one day and asked people on Twitter to make them into an actual Flash game. I don't know how to code a game, but I do know how to make a cartoon, so I did the next best thing.

Super F-Yeah! characters and levels belong to Pendleton Ward

Rex and Max characters belong to Garrett Jackson

Concept by Pen Ward

Writing, animation, music, and voices by Garrett Jackson

Note: I made up the name 'Super F-Yeah!' for the game because Pen didn't give it a name.

New 'Oh Shit, Monsters' comics! New shorts! Oh my God!

Sorry I haven't updated in so long - I'm currently working on several big projects including three different series pitches for Cartoon Network. That includes designing all the characters, thinking up the locals and stories, and putting together a Series Bible, as well as writing the scripts for the pilot episodes and storyboarding them for a pitch meeting. Woo! Lots and lots of work going on. But in the meantime, I made these (You may have seen the OSM comics already if you follow my tumblr page)

I've also made some new terrible short films:

Tales From the Back Room - Brain Dead

Brain Dead

Blanche talks about an interesting run-in with a customer that didn't seem to be "all there".

Woo! This was a LOT of fun to make. More to come!
